Burpee Pullups - 12/7/2012

Welcome to GrindItOut.  The place for like-minded calesthenic, bodyweight, and light dumbell excercise fanatics that obsess about fitness and diet.  My goal is for this to be a place that my friends will join me, challenge me, and have fun with me on a daily basis.  Like CrossFit, I hope to post a workout each day (my friends can post too).  Unlike CrossFit, I'm not a big fan of heavy weight / bar excersizes (or machines for that matter).   Thus, I want these workouts to be 20-30 minutes long and intense so that I can get in a quick workout during lunch, eat a quick lunch of rice and beans (best lunch ever) and get back to work within an hour.   So, think up your best workouts, name them, and post them here.  A little competition never hurts as well.   Today my buddy Mike and I challenged each other to 100 burpee pullups.   If you are not familiar with burpees, jump down, do a pushup, and jump up to standing again.  You just did a burpee.  If you do a pullup between each of them, that's a burpee pullup.  I did 100 in 25:18 for the first day of GrindingItOut.  What shall we do tomorrow?????????????

  1. Maybe not tomorrow (that was a lot of pull ups today), but very soon, we need to do the Murph. It's the epitome of a crossfit workout. Run a mile. Do 100 pull ups, 200 push ups, 300 air squats. Divide however you like. Then run another mile. It's traditional to run the mile wearing a weighted vest, but thankfully I don't have one. :-)

  2. For tomorrow, I propose:
    For time, three rounds of
    Run 800 m (0.5 mile)
    Rest two minutes

  3. Right on.... I woke up stiff this morning... not so much now, but really a mess this morning.

So is that just a three half miles with rest in between... Is that all you've got!
